Instead of using a mouse, keyboard shortcut keys can be used to do any function faster and more efficient. Below I mentioned the top 10 keyboard shortcut keys:

Windows + L & Windows + R & Windows + M

Windows + L : Locks the windows desktop for current user.

Windows + R : Open Run dialog box.

Windows + M : Minimize all the running and opened applications at a time.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete:

Open Task manager which helps to manage applications, processes, users, networks and performance at a single window.

Alt + Tab or Alt + Esc

It’s a Task Switcher which Switches between running applications.

In windows 7, Windows key + ALT used to switch between programs in full screen graphical mode.

Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert

Copy the highlighted text or other content to the clipboard.

In many command line interfaces, Ctrl + C is used to terminate any running process or execution.

Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert

Paste the copied content from clipboard to current cursor position.

Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y

  • Ctrl + Z key used to undo the last action performed. For ex: If you remove some words in notepad, pressing Ctrl – Z will restore the words. Use this command multiple times to undo all the action performed.
  • Ctrl + Y will redo the previous action done by the user.
